A native of Kingston, Ontario, Debbie and her husband Michael returned to Kingston in 1978 to start a life together and raise a family. Over the past twenty years, they have watched Kingston grow from a small town where everyone knew everybody, to a large town that is much more diverse and interesting.
After having a family and running several different businesses, Debbie decided her true passion was to help people design and plan for the life they want to live. From her first diploma as a paralegal (St. Lawrence College), to running family retail businesses, real estate development, and Cordon Bleu training, she has always believed that a road map to success is to set achievable goals for the future while finding the balance to live life for today.
In 1995, after being recruited by many different entities looking for women with a strong business background, Debbie decided to follow a passion and become a Certified Financial Planner. After interviewing many banks, insurance companies, and proprietary houses, she decided the best fit for her was an independent financial planning firm, and joined Mr. Ossie Fisher at Professional Investments. Having been there over 25 years, it seems the fit was perfect.
In 2003 she was contacted by the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts, and recruited to write the course to share this important knowledge with other Financial Advisors across Canada. Not only did she write and teach the course, but she became the predominant contact for the Canadian media, when discussing all matters relating to finance and the separation of marital property. Canadian Living, Chatelaine, Report on Business, The Globe and Mail, to mention a few, have all reached out to Debbie when writing on this life changing event.
Along with her CFP and CDFA designations, Debbie also has her CLU, TEP, RRC, and CEA, which basically covers every major designation you can achieve when it comes to financial, estate, and tax planning. Over the years, Debbie has also been president of the Estate Planning Council of Eastern Ontario, and has served on the board of ADVOCIS and several other industry boards and panels.
She believes in education, and working at the highest level so that she can help any client with anything relating to their financial well-being. Along with a team of established Associates in every professional field, she helps her clients feel comfort when it comes to their financial stability.
Whether your needs include retirement planning, income planning, estate issues, tax issues, or marital adjustment, Debbie can develop and implement a plan that is tailored to your dreams and desires. Your plan will be actionable and attainable, and she has many clients that are always happy to attest to that.
